Railway Network

Background

We were invited to undertake a total review of security arrangements at almost 20 stations from central London. This included locks, safes and intruder alarms. We visited every station, undertaking a comprehensive survey including interviews with staff.

We also audited the monetary values kept at each location to ensure safes with the correct insurance cash rating were specified. In addition we proposed a complete audit trail for each safe. Our proposals met all the requirements from the senior management and were within budget.

Solution

At each of the stations we were able to improve the total security package. The locks for the ticket offices were upgraded to meet insurance standards, utilising a suited master key system. In addition we issued an up to date key register for each of the 4 regional areas.

We manufactured and supplied custom made approved cash rated digi-lock safes. These came with an audit facility enabling tracking of how long safes were left open and by whom. Monitored intruder alarm systems were installed by our sister company Tindall Security.

We also provide a comprehensive after sales service with full monitoring of locks, alarms and safes along with detailed 6 monthly audit reports. From our initial review, all outstanding issues have been resolved. From this initial project we were successful in winning similar contracts for two other Rail Networks.
